A Callout for Unsung Heroes

Who is your Unsung Hero?

Please leave your Brunels’ and Frida Kahlos’ at the door, as this is The Museum of Unsung Heroes.

Museum of Unsung Heroes – Call Out

This is an opportunity for you to get involved! Discover unsung heroes you never knew you never knew.. and share the heroes you know with us all.

Those who walk amongst us, who make or made a difference, from our family, from our history, from across the globe or across the street.

These may be people you’ve known, people you’ve heard of, from your home town or home country. They may not be found in history books or museums, but that’s why it’s time for us to record their stories in The Museum of Unsung Heroes.

How to get involved?

We hope the contributions will be as varied as the heroes within it- meaning you can submit your entry however you please! A letter, a drawing, an old photo, a short video, a voice note, a puppet show!

We need your entries by 12pm, Friday 4th September.

Be as creative as you like, we just need to know some key bits of information:

1) The name of your hero

2) When they lived and where? (No addresses please – just areas!)

3) What makes them a hero?

This is your opportunity to tell us why this hero is a hero for you. Share with us so we can celebrate them too!

What happens next?

For one night only, on Thursday 17th September 2020, the acta centre will transform into a living museum, with live performances inspired by the entries we receive and the stories of these Heroes. (There will also be a Preview Night for free on Weds 16th for friends & family).

After the event, The Museum’s collection will be represented online on the acta website and submissions (with permission) will be exhibited in the acta community garden.

We will be sharing more details on this shortly. Keep up to date with us on Twitter and Instagram @actatheatre plus Facebook: acta community theatre.
