Arts Council Double

Both acta bids to Arts Council England have been successful – A capital bid to extend the acta centre in 2015, and core funding support for 2015 -18.

Join us on Tuesday 15 July, 1.30 – 4.30pm at the acta centre, for the next acta foundation seminar – a conversation about intergenerational community theatre, with Sering VZ from Belgium, who will present a film of their recent show, Viewmaster, as part of the discussion.

Online card payments

The acta website has a new card payment system, both on the box office for shows and also for buying acta publications. We want to make sure that buying show tickets online is as quick, easy & secure as possible.

Local schools drama starts

This term is the beginning of our new arts & communities programme, which is starting with a series of drama workshops for children across three local primary schools: St Mary Redcliffe, St Nicholas of Tolentine and Victoria Park.

The acta Centre was packed to the rafters with an eager audience for the three special preview performances of Gas Girls, at the end of March, which were a huge success.

Arts & Communities go ahead

acta has just heard that our bid to Arts Council England and Department of Communities & Local Government (DCLG), to extend the Get Together programme in Redcliffe and beyond, has been granted. Look out for initial community theatre projects from parents at Hannah More Primary, and with mums at Autism Independence.

Gas Girls

acta’s next touring community theatre show previews at the actacentre in March, before touring to Bristol neighbourhoods in June. This WWI centenary show tells a remarkable local story. Box office for all performances is now open, with tickets just £3.

Arnos Vale Cemetery

Stories from The Great War, a new site-specific theatre project in partnership with Arnos Vale, begins in the New Year, with funding from Heritage Lottery Fund.
