Rules of Engagement

Kaat Zoontjens from Rotterdams Wijktheater will join us for the next acta foundation seminar, to discuss how we engage new people in creating original theatre. Also with a Bristol theatre panel on engaging young people across the City.

Stories trailer

One hundred local people of all ages come together to celebrate the entirely unexpected history of Redcliffe; towers, merchants and pirates, industry, cholera, sixties regeneration and isolation. Real Bristol voices perform real Bristol stories. Watch the trailer…

Valuing community theatre

The next free Foundation seminar will take place on Friday 13 February, 1.30 – 4.30pm, and will focus on evaluation of participatory arts. How do we measure the social, artistic, cultural and economic value of community theatre, and does this help us to advocate for public funding of the arts?

Annual General Meeting

All welcome to come along to our Annual General Meeting, which will take place on Wednesday 4 March, 7.30pm at the acta centre.

Surgery artwork

Older members of Making Time, Monday mornings at acta centre, worked with local children from Compass Point to explore worlds, and create artwork for Gaywood House Surgery.

Horredy House

Young carers in Weston super Mare combined horror and comedy to create their own original spooky ghost story movie for Halloween, in a project to give young people a break from their caring responsibilities, make new friendships and build self-confidence.

A Tale or Two For You

We have been working with mums at Hannah More Primary School, all of whom speak English as a second language, to create a show for younger children in the school. Following two excellent shows on 21 October, an extra performance has been scheduled in school on 10 November.

Redcliffe Lanterns

We are proud to announce a lantern-lit parade for Redcliffe, on Saturday 24 January, for local families to celebrate their community at the start of the Bristol Green Capital year. We will be working with children and families at St Mary Redcliffe Primary and Redcliffe Children Centre.
