Inspired by the Campaign to End Loneliness, a day trip out to the actacentre for people of all ages interested in a weekly arts & social activity, and to share a hot meal.
Day Trippers enjoyed three Tuesdays in the Spring term. Social activities in this term included live music, a youtube quiz on the big screen, and making bunting with the reception class from Compass Point School. In the arts workshops, the group made their own mosaics.
Another three day trips took place through the summer term, on 16 May, 20 June and 18 July. This term, the group worked with words to create their own poems. They visited the reception class in their school to share their creative writing with the children, and to work with them to write some new poems together (see below).
Group members also continued to enjoy a hot meal on each visit to actacentre (provided with food from Fare Share), and social activities this term included a presentation, My Bassoon and Me, by Kathryn Hopkins.
