Between 2019 and 2021, acta worked with three international community arts organisations on Rapport: refugee arts with participants and practitioners open to integration.
Over seas, lands, and indeed Zooms, Rapport brought together local people from different nationalities and shared theatre across Europe. The project was supported by EU Creative Europe.
We co-ordinated the project and worked with Teatr Grodzki, Poland (Puppetry), Tantarantana, Catalonia, Spain (community arts & dance), Historieberattana, Sweden (digital arts & storytelling).
Out of this came Babel – You Can’t Grow Melons in the UK (23rd and 24th June 2021), we hosted the seminar Creating Theatre Internationally: The Power of Collaboration, at which we premiered the Rapport documentary film. The final instalment of Rapport is here now- Rapport as a publication.
The publication describes the process in detail, and is a great resource for those wishing to do international collaborations, or work with community groups and refugees.
You can now download the publication as a PDF by clicking here. We also have some printed, ring-bound copies we can post out – get in touch by 18th February 2022 to claim this and we can post it to you for free. We have a limited number so please be aware this will be first come, first served. Email [email protected] to request.
