COAST - Perpanata Workshop

We currently have lots of opportunities to join drama groups and to volunteer! Take a look at all the groups below, from adult daytime theatre to youth theatres, in Bedminster, Lockleaze and Hartcliffe. Keep scrolling down to see all the volunteer opportunities.

What can I join now?

Elevate Workshops

acta Community Theatre is proud to present the fifth session of the Elevate programme – Engaging communities: why and how?
Elevate is a scheme run by acta and funded by Paul Hamlyn Foundation and WECA. Over the course of nine months, we will train a core group of practitioners to make high-quality and impactful community-based theatre and arts initiatives. Some of the sessions will be open for all to book on to – we advise you follow us to get notified of future sessions too.

what will I do in this workshop?
• We’ll discuss the importance and impact of engaging communities from different cultural backgrounds
• How we engage different communities, e.g using English as a second language workshops as a gateway
• Explore different ways and methods of doing this work, and which exercises might work best
• We’ll discuss how we adapt this process with different groups with different needs
• Be introduced to past acta projects, to see this work in context, including watching short films

Whilst this work is done by us in a theatre setting, we feel this workshop would benefit more people than just theatre practitioners. We particularly think community organisers and campaigners may benefit, but also any artists that work in community settings.

Please book your place to the workshop via Eventbrite
